  • Identify the types of waves suitable for surfing
  • Surfing hazards – what to look out for
  • Surf equipment and clothing
  • Wave identification
  • Find a good wave to take off’s
  • Choosing the right surf conditions
  • Correct laying positioning
  • Correct paddling technique
  • Achieving the correct standing position
  • Dismounting a surfboard safely
  • Choose a safe place to enter the water
  • Safe surfboard handling
  • Surfing etiquette

SURF LESSON PLAN

EACH LESSON IS 1.5 HOUR

First 10 minutes – Surf safety and theory.

Second 20 minutes – Beach practicals

Go surfing – 50 minutes.

Drink break – 10 minutes.

Finish.
